Are there really other ways to ward of unwanted weeds in your yard than gallons of chemicals? Is there really a better option to a lush green lawn than man made fertilizers that have no business in your soil? YES! In today's world we want things right now. Fast Food, Movies on Demand, and beautiful grass. When we start to see weeds popping up in our yards we want to do everything we can to kill them instantly. You could spray some round up on those dandelions and call it a day, but is that really the BEST option? I'm certainly guilty of using chemicals in the past as I'm sure we all are, but as I have, you can also make the choice for change. So how will GrassJack go about a weed problem?

1. Feeding your lawn. It is imperative that your lawn be fed appropriately and cut to the perfect length to build a strong root system. One way we can do this is by the application of fertilizers that have a corn gluten base. Corn Gluten is a 100% natural byproduct of corn starch, and one application to your lawn can supply enough nitrogen for your grass to eat all season long!
2. Creating a strong root system. When your lawn is consistently cut below the correct length, the weeds have a better chance of taking over. Your lawn should be able to really take hold in the soil and fight for the nutrients it needs. When we cut grass too low, possibly hoping for more time in between cuts, we are also shortening the root system. Allowing your lawn to grow a little longer before cutting, and cutting more often will help ward off more attacking weeds than you might think.
3. Removing weeds by hand. Simply removing some larger weeds doesn't necessarily kill that weeds roots. In an improperly fertilized yard, there is nothing keeping that weed from sprouting right back up. By taking the time and effort required to pick some of the more stubborn weeds by hand, and keeping the surrounding lawn in good health, we are able to reduce the invaders in your yard without ever applying chemicals.

One thing I would like to stress about organic weed prevention and fertilization is time. A chemical application might have the weeds out of your yard a little faster, but creating a strong, all natural prevention plan is far superior. With any of our maintenance plans, all natural solutions are included and we won't ever charge you additional labor for fertilization applications. Call us today to see what we can do to keep your yard, and our earth as beautiful as ever.
