Who is GrassJack?
GrassJack provides lawn care & maintenance to Homewood, Mountain Brook, Vestavia Hills, Birmingham, and surrounding areas. We provide all around maintenance of your lawn as well as the exterior of your home, and you'll never hear us coming or going! All of our tools are man-powered. No gas, no batteries, just man and machine. We use the highest quality reel mowers, shears, and sweepers to keep your lawn looking top notch, without ever cranking an engine! GrassJack also provides organic lawn treatment programs for fertilization and weed prevention.
What is a GrassJack?
A GrassJack is to your lawn as a Lumberjack is to the forest. We use all manual equipment much like our lumberjack brothers of the early 1900's and before. Are we crazy? With all of the technological advances of today, why would we do such a thing? Sure, a 42" riding mower could cut your yard a little quicker, but the answer is simple. We care! We care about you, your grass, and the environment around us. It has nothing to do with being against advances in technology, we happen to use some of the most advanced scheduling and invoicing software available, and our "simple" tools have years of engineering to back them up. We want to provide the highest quality, all natural lawn care to our customers.

In the early spring and fall we will assess your lawn and suggest organic fertilization and weed prevention treatments that would be best suited for your piece of property. Throughout the spring and summer we keep your lawn on a schedule in order to maintain the look you want. During the fall and winter we will focus on lawn cleanup by removing all leaves and debris from your yard. When you own a piece of property you know as well as we do that there is always something that needs to be done. We also realize that it can be difficult to stay on top of everything while going about your daily lives. What equipment are we using?
Reel Mowers
We use high quality reel-type manual push mowers to give your lawn the perfect cut everytime. Rather than using the speed of a rotating blade to chop through blades of grass, a reel mower provides a scissor-like cut to your lawn.

Manual Edgers
Our manual edgers will provide your lawn with a crisp divider between your sidewalks and grass, as well as, reduce the noise you have to bear through while doing so.

Hedge Shears
Rather than breaking the limbs off of your shrubs and bushes, our shears are able to cleanly and efficiently keep your bushes and hedges looking sharp.

Lawn Rakes & Brooms
Forget about having to listen to a leaf blower ever again! We do things the old-fashined way using rotary lawn sweepers and hand rakes.
